He Went To Helen

So, this past Saturday I went to Helen's Tuxedo, a cute little old lady's tuxedo rental in Ellwood City. Helen has been around FOREVER! She may have even done my dad's tuxedo for his wedding. Anyway, I wanted to go with a classic look. So, I chose a white jacket with black pants. Blah, blah, blah. That's not the big news of the weekend. The big news is that I found the PERFECT gift for my groomsmen. The contents of that gift will not be disclosed. You will have to wait until the big day to see what the gift was as the guys will be wearing them to the reception...that is, if Carla allows. Here's a sneak preview:

God triple dog dared me

On August first, Donnie and I will be receiving the sacrament of marriage. I really don't want to lose sight of the importance of the ceremony amidst all the preparation for the reception. The ceremony is the most important part of the day. Father Carmen recently talked to us about being called. We are called by God to become one. When I think of other married couples, I try to see what it is that makes them happy, what makes it work. It is very hard to compare us to other couples. For some reason, I do it all the time. I need to stop doing that. We have a unique situation. It seems that God called Donnie and I not only to be married to each other, but to form a family for our children. I really don't feel like we were called to do that. We were challenged. No one said it would be easy, that's fine by me. I love those kids more than anything in the world. I will never give up on them or our family. So, to that I say, bring it. I'm ready for anything.
